South Sydney Rabbitohs fullback, Latrell Mitchell has given his parents one of the most ‘luscious, healthy, green’ Christmas presents you could hope for – Palmetto Soft Leaf Buffalo.
Last year, the Rugby League star laid Nara Native Zoysia at his own family home in Sydney.
After noticing the benefits of turf laid at his own home, Latrell believed Palmetto Soft Leaf Buffalo was the most suited turf variety for the front yard of his parents new ‘dream home’ at Taree, on the New South Wales (NSW) mid north coast.
“It’s the biggest selling Buffalo in the World, is low on maintenance, hard wearing and has great shade tolerance – everything my parents need for the front yard of their new home,” Latrell said.
“My parents also loved the look and feel of the soft leaf variety which holds its colour in winter in temperate climates like Taree.”

Latrell brought the spectacular six-bedroom country estate on 19.19 hectares for his parents last year.
The 23-year-old star paid over a million dollars for the property which went to auction in his hometown of Taree.
“I purchased the property to thank my parents, Patricia Goolagong and Matt Mitchell, for getting me to where I am today – a Rugby League superstar,” Latrell explained.
The team at Agland Turf Supplies helped Latrell install the new lawn which stands as a magnificent centrepiece for the 19ha riverfront property.
Latrell also knew that Palmetto’s key features were the right combination for his parent’s large family of kids, grandchildren and pets.
