Two Turf Living Libraries situated north and south of the Country now showcase TurfBreed’s grass varieties.
As Katie Fisher explains, TurfBreed’s strategy in establishing these two sites is to showcase our varieties in different climates and conditions accessible to perspective customers and landscape architects.
Assembling a comprehensive reference collection of TurfBreed’s turf grass varieties is the prime focus behind two new Living Libraries.
Located at Boyland on Queensland’s Gold Coast and in Victoria at the prestigious Melbourne Polytechnic College at Fairfield, both sites feature control samples and the varieties that make-up TurfBreed’s portfolio of turf brands.
Steve Burt, TurfBreed’s Managing Director, said these libraries enabled the Company to focus on researching the key characteristics of the varieties but to also have them all in one place to showcase to growers, prospective buyers such as residential, commercial as well as the sports sectors.

“Being located at Melbourne’s Polytechnic College also means the turf managers of the future are able to see first-hand our varieties and learn,” Steve said.
“Landscape students are able to take the knowledge of our varieties out to their prospective clients.
Steve said it also gave TurfBreed the opportunity to see all our varieties in one location and how they performed under different seasonal conditions both north and south of the Country.
We also look forward to establishing another living turf library in Sydney in the near future.
